Parish Update

An update is given on two important areas of our parish life, namely, redeveloping of a new pastoral plan for the parish, and update on planned works at both Churches. There is a separate note below from the Parish Service Team, PST and a leaflet from the Project Consultation Team highlighting what is going on.

Finance update will follow in the coming weeks.

OLG lighting.  You will no doubt have noticed that the lighting at Our Lady of Grace is gradually fading as more bulbs stop working.  Please rest assured there is a plan in hand. Given the age and construction of the existing suspended lights, a lighting consultant has been contacted and we are currently waiting for his suggested lighting options. Thank you for your patience.

Parish pastoral plan.  Following a successful Town Mission last year and in view of our young parish turning ten in 2020, The Parish Priest, The Parish Service Team (PST) and the Parish Implementation and Development (PIDT) team leaders have just started to look at developing a new parish pastoral plan and we will need your help.

The word ‘pastoral’ has its roots with the Latin word for shepherd and, like a shepherd, a pastoral plan aims to guide the parish priest look after the needs of its flock, the parishioners.  In our parish, individuals and several PIDT groups covering a range of parish activities from liturgy to education to finance to health and safety/property maintenance and social activities, help the parish priest.  So far, we have started looking at our parish life in general. We plan to let you know our initial thoughts and how the entire parish can be part of this very important process; what we’ll need then are your views as it’s very important that the pastoral plan is a plan for us all.  At this time, please pray for the success of this work and perhaps start to think about what you feel the pastoral plan should focus on.  Thank you.  Jacque – Parish Service Team Chair.
